Antonov Airlines adhere to the safety standards enforcing strict requirements for the lashing of cargo on Antonov
Airlines aircraft. The safe of cargo transportation is paramount as it concerns flight safety. Therefore the cargoes must
be securely lashed.
There are 3 different types of lashing devices in our aircraft:
Steel chains that are capable to withstand load up to 12 tonnes each (for heavy pieces);
Straps (for delicate cargo);
Lashing nets (for general cargo – pallets and boxes).
The cargoes should be property
prepared to air shipment and have
enough quantity of the lashing points to
withstand the loads in of axes directions.
Lashing points on the cargo should
withstand the next G-forces during
flight:
2.0g up;
3.5g down;
2.3g forward;
1.5g back;
1.5g to the left/right.
Antonov Airlines in-house engineers
provide customers with instructions
and the calculated number and
preferred positions of lashings points
needed and the way in which the cargo
should be secured based on
the different factors.
To ensure the safety of personnel
and the safe transport of cargo,
the instructions provided must be
adhered to.
